Working with
BOM's
|
The success of a project is
partly determined by controlling material costs. The
e-Office BOM Manager will help you construct and
manipulate required lists of materials - BOM's.
A BOM is constructed using
the powerful e-Office search engine to retrieve parts
from any of the available databases. HPH has gone to
extraordinary lengths to build flexible search
processes/options and define the data in a manner that
will produce the most reliable queries in the trades.
Once a BOM has been created
you have many options to modify the BOM. The BOM Manager
will also provide valuable information to you when
making critical business decisions.
Common BOM's &
Assemblies
Many Plumbing/Mechanical
projects require the same or similar parts. For example,
a residential rough-in may require runs of 1/2", 3/4",
and 1" Copper and 1-1/2", 3", and 4" PVC-DWV. Instead of
re-constructing a BOM for each run for every job, create
one master BOM for each run and then simply modify and
save it to the desired project.
The same can be done for
assemblies such as toilet, water heater, and boiler
installations.
These assemblies will always
be kept current with the latest prices as e-Office will
automatically update them unless they are
locked.
